4. Parys Mountain - Mynydd Eilian22 views28/6/26. The highest point in the quarry 147 metres, close to the windmill. So far so good. The windmill acts as a visitor information centre. We sat outside to have our morning panad.

3. Llyn Padarn Circuit22 views2/7/26. The duck came along after the photo of members having their morning panad was taken, but they were still sitting there when the duck appeared. So the duck was inserted from a photograph taken by Gwynfor Jones. Several ducklings (not photographed!) appeared later.

6. Llyn Padarn Circuit22 views2/7/26. Climbing up the path and into the woodland beyond we came across a very rustic looking bridge. Since the group rather hid the finer points of the workmanship, there is a smaller photograph inserted (bottom right) showing what it looked like before we got on to it.

2. Moel Siabod Foothills21 views19/04/26. What an amazing sight, clusters of tadpoles. All crowded in the shallower warmer parts of the pool. They didn't move until we got close.

5. Parys Mountain - Mynydd Eilian21 views28/6/26. The steam pump-house at the eastern edge of the quarry. No sign of the machinery. It is home to a large bird's nest made from tree branches. The bird species unknown but it must be a big one.

6. Parys Mountain - Mynydd Eilian21 views28/6/26. Experiencing a little problem at Glan-Llyn farm where the official path looked unsafe due to animals beyond the gate. We took an alternative route through the farm which didn't really please the farmer.

9. Parys Mountain - Mynydd Eilian21 views28/6/26. On our way back. With the hill Yr Hald (105 metres) to the left on the photo we are on the return and will shortly be walking through grassland on the southern side of Parys Mountain. There was just a little hold up at the stile.
